The Legal Services Act 2007 (Commencement No. 10) Order 2011

Made: 9th March 2011

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 211(2) of the Legal Services Act 2007[^f00001].

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Legal Services Act 2007 (Commencement No. 10) Order 2011.

Commencement of provisions

The following provisions of the Legal Services Act 2007, to the extent that they are not already in force, come into force on 1st April 2011—

• (a) sections 175(2)(e) and 186;

• (b) in Schedule 4 (approved regulators), paragraph 19(2)(f); and

• (c) Parts 1 and 2 of Schedule 18 (immigration advice and immigration services).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order is the tenth commencement order made under the Legal Services Act 2007 (c. 29) (“the 2007 Act”).

Article 2 commences provisions of the 2007 Act connected with the provision of immigration advice and services. In particular, article 2 commences Part 1 of Schedule 18 which provides for persons to be authorised by designated qualifying regulators to provide immigration advice and services and Part 2 which makes amendments to the Immigration and Asylum Act [1999 (c. 33)](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1999/33) in connection with the provision of those services.
