Coming into force in accordance with article 1

The Lord President of the Council[^f00001], in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 26(2) and 27 of the Welsh Language Act 1993[^f00002], makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Referendum on the Voting System (Welsh Forms) Order 2011 and comes into force seven days after the day on which it is laid before Parliament.

Interpretation

In this Order–

Welsh version of prescribed forms or forms of words

Each of the forms or forms of words set out in Schedule 1 to this Order is prescribed as the Welsh version which may be used in Wales at the referendum in place of—

Welsh and English versions of prescribed forms

Each of the forms set out in Schedule 2 to this Order is prescribed as the version partly in Welsh and partly in English which must be used in Wales at the referendum in place of—

SCHEDULE 1 — Welsh version of prescribed forms or forms of words

SCHEDULE 2 — Welsh and English versions of prescribed forms

NOTE

The references to Schedule 3 are references to Schedule 3 to the National Assembly for Wales (Representation of the People) Order 2007 as applied by the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Act 2010.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The forms and forms of words prescribed by article 3 and Schedule 1 to this Order are Welsh versions of certain forms or forms of words which may be used at the referendum on the United Kingdom parliamentary voting system, and in the Welsh Assemby election which will be combined with the referendum in Wales. The forms prescribed by article 4 of, and Schedule 2 to, this Order are versions partly in Welsh and partly in English which must be used at the referendum in Wales and the Welsh Assembly for the purposes referred to in article 4 of the Order.

The English version of the forms and forms of words are contained in the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Act 2011 (c.1).
