The Product Safety (Revocation) Regulations 2012

Coming into force: 1st October 2012

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations insofar as they relate to the repeal of the Child Resistant Packaging and Tactile Danger Warnings (Safety) (Revocation) Regulations 1992[^f00004] in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 and in all other respects, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 of the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

Citation and Commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Product Safety (Revocation) Regulations 2012 and come into force on 1st October 2012.

The instruments listed in the schedule are revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations revoke the instruments listed in the schedule.

The Child Resistant Packaging and Tactile Danger Warnings (Safety) (Revocation) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/2620) revoked The Child Resistant Packaging and Tactile Danger Warnings (Safety) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/2006) which implemented two European directives regulating certain types of reclosable packaging.

The remaining instruments listed in the schedule regulated the safety of products.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen. The Explanatory Memorandum which accompanies this instrument is available alongside a copy of the instrument itself, at: www.legislation.gov.uk.
