Coming into force in accordance with article 1

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 17th day of October 2012Present,The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 9(2) of the United Nations Personnel Act 1997[^f00001], as applied by section 3(4) of the Geneva Conventions and United Nations Personnel (Protocols) Act 2009[^f00002], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the United Nations Personnel (Isle of Man) Order 2012 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Interpretation

In this Order “the Act” means the Geneva Conventions and United Nations Personnel (Protocols) Act 2009.

Extension of the Act to the Isle of Man

Section 2 of the Act shall extend to the Isle of Man.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order extends to the Isle of Man section 2 of the Geneva Conventions and United Nations Personnel (Protocols) Act 2009. Section 2 amends section 4 of the United Nations Personnel Act 1997, which already extends to the Isle of Man by virtue of the United Nations Personnel (Isle of Man) Order 1997 (S.I. 1998/1509) and will accordingly now extend to the Isle of Man with the amendments made by section 2.
