Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers in section 2(5)(b) and (6) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993[^f00001], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows:
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Health Service Commissioner for England (Special Health Authorities) Order 2012 and comes into force on 17th January 2013.
Designation as bodies subject to investigation

The Special Health Authorities[^f00002] listed in the Schedule are designated as Special Health Authorities to which section 2(1) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993 (bodies subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner for England) applies.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order designates three Special Health Authorities, Health Education England, the Health Research Authority and the National Health Service Trust Development Authority, as health service bodies subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner for England under section 2 of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993.
