The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 25 of the Postal Services Act 2011[^f00001].
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Postal Services Act 2011 (Specified Day) Order 2012.

The day specified for the provisions listed in article 3 to come into force is 1st April 2012.

The provisions are—
- (a) articles 2 to 12 of the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Accrued Pension Rights) Order 2012[^f00002]; and
- (b) articles 1(3) and 2 to 9 of the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Assets) Order 2012[^f00003].

EXPLANATORY NOTE
Section 25 of the Postal Services Act 2011 (c.5) provides that the Secretary of State may specify by Order a day on which other Orders made under Part 2 of that Act will come into force.
Two Orders, the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Accrued Pension Rights) Order 2012 (S.I. 2012/687) and the Postal Services Act 2011 (Transfer of Assets) Order 2012 (S.I. 2012/688) were laid before Parliament on 9th March 2012. This Order provides that the operative provisions of those Orders will come into force on 1st April 2012.
