Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995[^f00001], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Categorisation of Registries of Relevant British Possessions) (Amendment) Order 2013 and comes into force on 12th June 2013.

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends article 6 (exemptions from restrictions on registration) of the Merchant Shipping (Categorisation of Registries of Relevant British Possessions) Order 2003. This will enable the registration in certain British Possessions of ships of no more than 400 tons, subject to certain conditions relating to survey and inspection being satisfied. A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sectors is foreseen.
