The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2013

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 182(5) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009[^f00001].
Citation

This Order may be cited as the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2013.
Provisions coming into force on 22nd April 2013

Section 117(4), (5), (6), (7) and (8) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (detention of persons under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000[^f00002]) shall come into force on 22nd April 2013.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into force section 117(4), (5), (6), (7) and (8) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 on 22nd April 2013. These provisions amend section 51 of the Police Reform Act 2002 (c. 30) so that local policing bodies must ensure that particular arrangements in relation to the visiting of terrorist detainees by independent custody visitors are in place.
