At the Court at Windsor Castle, the 9th day of April 2013Present,The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Accordingly, Her Majesty is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows—

This Order may be cited as the Global Green Growth Institute (Legal Capacities) Order 2013 and shall come into force on the date, to be notified in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes, on which the Agreement on the Establishment of the Global Green Growth Institute done in Rio de Janeiro on 20th June 2012[^f00002] enters into force in the respect of the United Kingdom.

The Global Green Growth Institute is an organisation of which the United Kingdom and other sovereign Powers are members.

The Global Green Growth Institute shall have the legal capacities of a body corporate.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order confers the legal capacities of a body corporate on the Global Green Growth Institute (‘GGGI’), an international organisation established with the aim of promoting sustainable development of developing and emerging countries. The Agreement on the Establishment of the Global Green Growth Institute (‘the GGGI Agreement’) entered into force on 18 October 2012. The United Kingdom signed the GGGI Agreement on 20 June 2012.

Article 14 of the GGGI Agreement requires that GGGI have legal capacity. This Order will enable Her Majesty’s Government to give effect to its obligations under Article 14 and will come into force on the date that the GGGI Agreement enters into force with respect to the United Kingdom*.*

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
