In exercise of the powers conferred by section 45(1) and (2) of the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act 2014[^f00001], the Lord President of the Council makes the following Order:

The provision commenced by article 2(2)(a) has no effect for the purposes of any election for which the notice of election was published before the coming into force of that provision.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order is the first commencement order made under the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act 2014 (c.4).

The provisions listed in article 2 come into force on the dates specified in that article.

The provisions in Part 1 being commenced in this Order allow for the appointment of the Registrar of Consultant Lobbyists, and enable the Registrar to establish the office. They also enable the Registrar to begin producing guidance in advance of the commencement of the other provisions of Part 1. Some of the provisions in Part 1 of the Act which are commenced in article 2 were commenced for certain purposes on Royal Assent, and are therefore commenced by this Order for remaining purposes.
