The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (Commencement No. 10) Order 2014

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 151(1) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012[^f00001].

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (Commencement No. 10) Order 2014.

Provisions coming into force on 28th May 2014

The following provisions of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 come into force on 28th May 2014—

• (a) in section 85—

• (i) subsection (3);

• (ii) subsections (5) to (13); and

• (iii) subsections (15) to (17);

• (b) section 86; and

• (c) section 87.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order is the tenth commencement order made under the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (c.10) (“the Act”), and brings certain provisions of the Act into force on 28th May 2014, relating to fines and maximum fines which may be imposed on summary conviction.

Article 2 (a) brings into force section 85 of the Act, except section 85(1), (2), (4) and (14). Articles 2(b) and (c) bring into force sections 86 and 87 of the Act respectively.
