Coming into force: 15th September 2014

Accordingly, the Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 10(2) of Schedule 2A to the Representation of the People Act 1983[^f00003].

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The registration officer in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland is required to issue a certificate of anonymous entry to persons with an anonymous entry in the electoral register maintained by that officer.

Regulation 2 provides that any such certificate of anonymous entry can be used by a candidate as evidence that a donor is registered in an electoral register for the purpose of reporting donations to the Electoral Commission.
