EXPLANATORY NOTE
This made Order is to re-introduce connecting routes required for the construction of the A1 Motorway on and off north facing slip roads at Scotch Corner to connect to the previously Made Scheme “The A1 Motorway (Dishforth to Barton Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 2008”.
These routes were removed from the original draft Scheme in the Secretary of States’ Decision Letter (31st March 2008) following the 2006 Public Inquiry. The revised proposals include a modified northbound on slip, which connects to the existing Scotch Corner roundabout via a new length of dual carriageway and a new roundabout.
