Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This made Order is to make provision for a new dual carriageway route from the existing Scotch Corner roundabout to a new roundabout (which the Secretary of State intends to construct), from which the new A1 Motorway northbound slip road will connect to the previously Made Scheme “The A1 Motorway (Dishforth to Barton Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 2008”.

This route was removed from the original draft Order in the Secretaries of State Decision Letter (31st March 2008) following the 2006 Public Inquiry and has now been re-introduced in this revised proposal.
