The Children and Families Act 2014 (Commencement No. 5 and Transitional Provision) Order 2014

Made: 13th October 2014

The Secretary of State for Education makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 137(1) and 139(6) of the Children and Families Act 2014[^f00001].

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Children and Families Act 2014 (Commencement No. 5 and Transitional Provision) Order 2014.

Interpretation

In this Order “the 2014 Act” means the Children and Families Act 2014.

Provision coming into force on 22nd October 2014

Section 11 of the 2014 Act comes into force on 22nd October 2014 subject to the transitional provision in Article 4.

Transitional provision in relation to the coming into force of section 11 of the 2014 Act

Section 11 of the 2014 Act does not apply in respect of any family proceedings (to which the provisions amended by section 11 relate) that were commenced but not disposed of prior to 22nd October 2014.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force section 11 (welfare of the child: parental involvement) of the Children and Families Act 2014 (c.6) (“the 2014 Act”) on 22nd October 2014 subject to the transitional provision set out in Article 4.

Certain provisions came into force on the passing of the 2014 Act. Provisions commenced by previous Commencement Orders are noted below.
