EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations bring into force section 50 of the Infrastructure Act 2015 (c. 7) (“the Act”) for the purpose only of the duty to make provision by regulations to define “protected groundwater source areas” and “other protected areas” in section 4A of the Petroleum Act 1998 (c. 17). In consequence, the Secretary of State is required to lay a draft of such regulations before Parliament by 31st July 2015.
An impact assessment of the effect that section 50 of the Act will have on the costs of business and the voluntary sector has been produced, and a copy is available at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukia/2015/254/pdfs/ukia_20150254_en.pdf. No separate impact assessment has been produced for this instrument.
