The Maximum Number of Judges Order 2015

Coming into force in accordance with article 1

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 11th day of November 2015Present,The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Now, therefore, Her Majesty is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to make the following Order:

Citation and Commencement

This Order may be cited as the Maximum Number of Judges Order 2015 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

Amendment of the Senior Courts Act 1981

In section 2(1)(b)[^f00003] of the 1981 Act (the Court of Appeal), for “38” substitute “39”.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order increases the maximum number of ordinary judges of the Court of Appeal from 38 to 39.
