The Armed Forces (Service Complaints and Financial Assistance) Act 2015 (Commencement) Regulations 2015

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 7(1) of the Armed Forces (Service Complaints and Financial Assistance) Act 2015[^f00001], makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Armed Forces (Service Complaints and Financial Assistance) Act 2015 (Commencement) Regulations 2015.

Sections 1 to 3 of, and the Schedule to, the Armed Forces (Service Complaints and Financial Assistance) Act 2015 come into force on 1st January 2016.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations provide for the commencement on 1st January 2016 of sections 1 to 3 of, and the Schedule to, the Armed Forces (Service Complaints and Financial Assistance) Act 2015 (“the Act”). Sections 1 to 3 and the Schedule provide for the creation of the office of Service Complaints Ombudsman and the reform of the system for redress of individual grievances of members of the armed forces. The remaining provisions of the Act, sections 4 to 8, came into force on Royal Assent.
