The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) Regulations 2015

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The Secretary of State is a Minister designated[^f00001] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[^f00002] in relation to the environmental aspects of product design and makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.

Citation and commencement

• (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) Regulations 2015.

• (2) Subject to paragraph (3), these Regulations come into force on 1st July 2015.

• (3) Regulations 2(3) and 3 come into force on 1st January 2016.

• (1) The table at paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 (declaration of conformity) to the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010[^f00003] is amended as follows.

• (2) After item 22 insert—

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010 (S.I. 2010/2617) (“the 2010 Regulations”) and the Energy Information Regulations 2011 (S.I. 2011/1524) (“the 2011 Regulations”) and partially implement Commission Regulations (EU) Nos 548/2014 and 1253/2014, and Commission Delegated Regulations (EU) No 1254/2014 as follows—

• (a) regulation 2(2) and (3) adds two new products to Schedule 1 (declaration of conformity) to the 2010 Regulations—

• (i) small, medium and large power transformers to apply from 1st July 2015;

• (ii) ventilation units to apply from 1st January 2016; and

• (b) regulation 3 adds residential ventilation units to Schedule 1 (EU measures) to the 2011 Regulations to apply from 1st January 2016.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
