The Personal Injuries (Civilians) Scheme (Amendment) Order 2015

The Secretary of State, with the approval of the Treasury, makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 2 of the Personal Injuries (Emergency Provisions) Act 1939[^f00001], and now vested in the Secretary of State[^f00002]:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

• (1) This Order may be cited as the Personal Injuries (Civilians) Scheme (Amendment) Order 2015 and shall come into force on 6th April 2015.

• (2) In this Order “the principal Scheme” means the Personal Injuries (Civilians) Scheme 1983[^f00003].

Amendment to the principal Scheme

The schedules to the principal scheme are amended by substituting—

• (a) the table in Schedule 1 for the table in Schedule 3 of the principal Scheme;

• (b) the table in Schedule 2 for the table in Schedule 4 of the principal Scheme.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends the Personal Injuries (Civilians) Scheme 1983 (“the principal Scheme”) which makes provision for the payment of pensions and allowances to or in respect of civilians who were killed or injured during the 1939-1945 World War.

Article 2 (a) substitutes a new table into Schedule 3 to the principal Scheme. This table reflects the up-rating of the payments contained within it. This table specifies which rates of pensions and allowances are payable in respect of disablement and or earnings or income thresholds.

Article 2 (b) substitutes a new table into Schedule 4 to the principal Scheme. This table reflects the up-rating of the payments contained within it. This table specifies the rates of pensions and allowances payable in respect of death.
