The Police and Crime Commissioner Elections Order 2015
Made: 9th March 2015
Coming into force: 7th May 2015
In accordance with section 154(2)(b) of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, a draft of this Order has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament.
Citation, commencement and extent

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections Order 2015 and comes into force on 7th May 2015.
- (2) This Order extends to England and Wales only.
Application of the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) Regulations 2004 to police and crime commissioner elections

- (1) The amendments made by the 2015 Regulations to the 2004 Regulations have effect in relation to a PCC election as they have effect in relation to an election or referendum within paragraphs (a) to (d) of the definition of “relevant election or referendum” in paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the 2004 Regulations.
- (2) Accordingly, the amendments made by the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections Order 2012[^f00003] to the 2004 Regulations have effect in relation to those Regulations as amended by the 2015 Regulations.
- (3) In this article—
- (a) “the 2004 Regulations” means the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) Regulations 2004[^f00004];
- (b) “the 2015 Regulations” means the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2015[^f00005];
- (c) “PCC election” means an election of a police and crime commissioner in accordance with Chapter 6 of Part 1 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order applies the amendments made to the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) Regulations 2004 by the Representation of the People (Combination of Polls) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2015 to police and crime commissioner elections under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.
