The Lifts (Amendment) Regulations 2016
Made: 1st December 2016
Laid before Parliament: 7th December 2016
Coming into force: 8th December 2016
The Secretary of State, who is a Minister designated[^f00001] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[^f00002] in relation to measures relating to lifts and safety components for use in lifts, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act.
Citation and Commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Lifts (Amendment) Regulations 2016 and come into force on 8th December 2016.
Amendment to the Lifts Regulations 2016

In regulation 3(2)(a) of the Lifts Regulations 2016[^f00003], for “on or after” substitute “before”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations amend the Lifts Regulations 2016 (S.I. 2016/1093) to make clear that those Regulations apply to lifts and safety components for lifts placed on the market on or after 8th December 2016 (the commencement date for those Regulations), but do not apply to lifts and safety components for lifts placed on the market before that date.
