Made: 24th March 2016

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 57(7)(c) and (10) of the Infrastructure Act 2015[^f00001], makes the following Regulations.

Citation and interpretation

These Regulations may be cited as the Infrastructure Act 2015 (Commencement No. 5) Regulations 2016.

Provisions coming into force on 6th April 2016

Section 50 (onshore hydraulic fracturing: safeguards) of the Infrastructure Act 2015 comes into force on 6th April 2016, so far as it is not already in force.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations bring into force section 50 (onshore hydraulic fracturing: safeguards) of the Infrastructure Act 2015 so far as it is not already in force.

An impact assessment of the effect that section 50 of the Act will have on the costs of business and the voluntary sector has been produced and a copy is published alongside the Onshore Hydraulic Fracturing (Protected Areas) Regulations 2016 on www.legislation.gov.uk. No separate impact assessment has been produced for this instrument.
