Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Bathing Water (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2016 and come into force on 20th June 2016.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Bathing Water Regulations 2013 (S.I. 2013/1675) (“the 2013 Regulations”) which implement, in England and Wales, Directive 2006/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the management of bathing water quality and repealing Directive 76/160/EEC (OJ L 64, 4.3.2006, p 37).

Regulation 2 amends Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the 2013 Regulations to include two surface waters newly identified by the Secretary of State as bathing waters in England and to omit four surface waters no longer identified by the Secretary of State as bathing waters in England. The names of three bathing waters on the English list are also amended.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or business sector is foreseen.
