The Reserve Forces Acts 1980 and 1996 (Isle of Man) (Amendment) Order 2016

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 158(3) of the Reserve Forces Act 1980[^f00001], as applied by section 49(3) of the Defence Reform Act 2014[^f00002], and section 132(3) of the Reserve Forces Act 1996[^f00003], as applied by section 49(4) of the Defence Reform Act 2014, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows:
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Reserve Forces Acts 1980 and 1996 (Isle of Man) (Amendment) Order 2016 and comes into force on 1st August 2016.
Amendment of the Reserve Forces Acts 1980 and 1982 (Isle of Man) Order 1986

- (1) The Reserve Forces Acts 1980 and 1982 (Isle of Man) Order 1986[^f00004]is amended as follows.
- (2) In article 2, after “the Reserve Forces Act 1980” insert “, including the amendments made to that Act by section 44 of the Defence Reform Act 2014,”.
Amendment of the Reserve Forces Act 1996 (Isle of Man) Order 2010

- (1) The Reserve Forces Act 1996 (Isle of Man) Order 2010[^f00005] is amended as follows.
- (2) In article 2, after “the Reserve Forces Act 1996” insert “, including the amendments made to that Act by sections 44 to 47 of, and Schedules 6 and 7 to, the Defence Reform Act 2014,”.
- (3) In the Schedule—
- (a) omit paragraph 7; and
- (b) after paragraph 30 insert—
(30A) In paragraph 31(2) of Schedule 9, after “United Kingdom” insert “and the Isle of Man.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order makes amendments to the Reserve Forces Acts 1980 and 1982 (Isle of Man) Order 1986 and the Reserve Forces Act 1996 (Isle of Man) Order 2010. The amendment made by Article 2(2) extends to the Isle of Man amendments made to the Reserve Forces Act 1980 by section 44 of the Defence Reform Act 2014 (“the 2014 Act”). The amendment made by Article 3(2) extends to the Isle of Man amendments made to the Reserve Forces Act 1996 (“the 1996 Act”) by sections 44 to 47 of, and Schedules 6 and 7 to, the 2014 Act. The amendment made by Article 3(3)(a) is consequential on the repeal, by section 45(4) of the 2014 Act, of section 56(1)(a) of the 1996 Act. Article 3(3)(b) makes a modification to a provision inserted into Schedule 9 to the 1996 Act by paragraph 4(7) of Schedule 6 to the 2014 Act and extended to the Isle of Man by Article 3(2) of this Order.
