Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 1 of the United Nations Act 1946[^f00001], section 112 of the Saint Helena Act 1833[^f00002], the British Settlements Acts 1887 and 1945[^f00003], and all of the other powers enabling Her to do so, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows:

Citation, commencement and extent

• (1) This Order may be cited as the Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) (Revocations) Order 2016 and comes into force on 10th August 2016.

• (2) This Order extends to the territories listed in the Schedule.

Revocations

The following Orders are revoked:

• (a) the Côte d’Ivoire (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2012[^f00004]; and

• (b) the Liberia (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2015[^f00005].

• Anguilla

• British Antarctic Territory

• British Indian Ocean Territory

• Cayman Islands

• Falkland Islands

• Montserrat

• Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands

• St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha

• South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

• The Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia in the Island of Cyprus

• Turks and Caicos Islands

• Virgin Islands

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order revokes the Côte d’Ivoire (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2012 (S.I. 2012/3067) and the Liberia (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2015 (S.I. 2015/1899), which gave effect in specified Overseas Territories to sanctions adopted by the United Nations Security Council and the European Union against Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia respectively. The Order reflects the termination of those sanctions by the United Nations Security Council and the European Union.
