The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 12B(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1988[^f00001]:
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Act 1988 (Motor Racing) (England) Regulations 2017 and come into force on 10th April 2017.
Motor sport governing bodies authorised to issue motor race permits

The motor sport governing bodies specified for the purpose of section 12B(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1988, in relation to England, are—
- (a) The Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association Limited[^f00002]; and
- (b) The Auto-Cycle Union Limited[^f00003].

EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations specify those motor sport governing bodies which are authorised to issue permits under section 12B of the Road Traffic Act 1998 for the purpose of motor racing on public highways in England.
