Coming into force: 25th August 2017

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 16A(2)(a) and 124(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act[^f00001], makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the M48 Motorway (Severn Bridge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2017 and shall come into force on 25th August 2017.

In this Order –

and a reference to an article followed by a number is a reference to the article in this Order which bears that number.

Subject to article 5, no person shall, during a first event period, cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in the M48 and the slip roads.

Subject to article 5, no authorised traffic, as defined in article 2 above, shall enter or proceed in the footpath / cycle track during the second event period.

Articles 3 and 4 shall apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs and shall not apply to:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order authorises the temporary prohibition of traffic on the M48 Motorway (Severn Bridge) on the 25th August 2017 to facilitate the holding of the Severn Bridge Half Marathon.
