The Antarctic (Jersey) Regulations 2018

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 9(1), 10(1), 11(1), 14(1), 25(1) and (3) and 32 of the Antarctic Act 1994[^f00001], as extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey by the Antarctic Act 1994 (Jersey) Order 1995[^f00002].
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Antarctic (Jersey) Regulations 2018 and come into force on the seventh day after the day on which they are registered by the Royal Court of Jersey.
Extension of amendments to the Antarctic Regulations 1995

The Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2008[^f00003] and the Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2017[^f00004] shall have effect in, and form part of the law of, the Bailiwick of Jersey.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The Antarctic (Jersey) Regulations 1997 (S.I. 1997/2967) extended the Antarctic Regulations 1995 (S.I. 1995/490) (“the 1995 Regulations”) to the Bailiwick of Jersey with certain modifications. These Regulations extend to the Bailiwick of Jersey the amendments made to the 1995 Regulations by the Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2008 (S.I. 2008/3066) and the Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2017 (S.I. 2017/706).
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
