Made: 9th November 2018

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 9(1), 10(1), 11(1), 14(1), 25(1) and (3) and 32 of the Antarctic Act 1994[^f00001], as extended to the Isle of Man by the Antarctic Act 1994 (Isle of Man) Order 1995[^f00002].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Antarctic (Isle of Man) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 and come into force seven days after the day on which they were made.

In regulation 2 of the Antarctic (Isle of Man) Regulations 1997[^f00003], after “the Antarctic Regulations 1995” insert “, as amended by the Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2008[^f00004] and the Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2017[^f00005],”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Antarctic (Isle of Man) Regulations 1997 (S.I. 1997/2968), which extended the Antarctic Regulations 1995 (S.I. 1995/490) to the Isle of Man with certain modifications, to extend to the Isle of Man the amendments made to those Regulations by the Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2008 (S.I. 2008/3066) and the Antarctic (Amendment) Regulations 2017 (S.I. 2017/706).

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
