Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The requirements of paragraphs 3(2) and 17(2) of Schedule 7 to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (relating to the appropriate Parliamentary procedure for these Regulations) have been satisfied.
The Minister for the Cabinet Office makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8(1), 23(1) and (6), and 24(3) of, and paragraph 21(b) of Schedule 7 to, that Act.
Citation, commencement and extent

These Regulations may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections Etc. (Repeal, Revocation, Amendment and Saving Provisions) (United Kingdom and Gibraltar) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 and come into force on 31st December 2020.

Any amendment, repeal or revocation made by these Regulations has the same extent as the provision to which it relates .

The provisions listed in Schedule 1 are repealed or revoked to the extent specified.

Saving

Despite the repeal of the European Parliamentary Elections Act 2002 by the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, Schedule 1 to that Act (electoral regions in England and Gibraltar) continues to have effect on and after 31st December 2020 as it had effect immediately before that day for the purposes of the definition of “electoral region” in section 8(1) of the European Parliament (Pay and Pensions) Act 1979 .
