The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19(2) of the Education and Adoption Act 2016[^f00001], makes the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Education and Adoption Act 2016 (Commencement No. 4) Regulations 2018.

The following provisions of the Education and Adoption Act 2016 come into force on 7th March 2018:

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations are the fourth commencement regulations made under the Education and Adoption Act 2016 (“the Act”).

These Regulations appoint 7th March 2018 as the day for the coming into force of section 15 and section 16(c) of the Act. Section 15 provides for the repeal of section 3A and brings into force section 3ZA of the Adoption and Children Act 2002. Section 16(c) provides for the repeal of section 4 of the Children and Families Act 2014 which inserted section 3A into the Adoption and Children Act 2002. These Regulations bring the Act into full force.
