The Bathing Water (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2018

The Secretary of State is designated[^f00002] for the purposes of that section of that Act in relation to the environment.
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Bathing Water (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2018 and come into force on 21st May 2018.
Amendment to the Bathing Water Regulations 2013

- (1) Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the Bathing Water Regulations 2013 (surface waters in England)[^f00003] is amended as follows.
- (2) For the following entries, substitute as follows—
- (a) for “Carbis Bay Station Beach”, substitute “Carbis Bay”;
- (b) for “Crinnis”, substitute “Crinnis Beach”;
- (c) for “Fistral”, substitute “Fistral North”;
- (d) for “Par”, substitute “Par Sands”;
- (e) for “Porthleven West”, substitute “Porthleven Sands”;
- (f) for “Readymoney”, substitute “Readymoney Cove”;
- (g) for “Shorthorn”, substitute “Shorthorn Beach”.
- (3) In the appropriate places, insert—
- (a) “Booby’s Bay”;
- (b) “Bournemouth Manor Steps”;
- (c) “Crooklets”;
- (d) “Fistral South”;
- (e) “Godrevy Towans”;
- (f) “Gwithian Towans”;
- (g) “Gwynver”;
- (h) “Hayle Towans”;
- (i) “Long Rock”;
- (j) “Marazion”;
- (k) “Mexico Towans”;
- (l) “Northcott Mouth”;

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations amend the Bathing Water Regulations 2013 (S.I. 2013/1675) which implement, in England and Wales, Directive 2006/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the management of bathing water quality (OJ No L 64, 4.3.2006, p 37).
Part 1 of Schedule 2 is amended to include nine surface waters newly identified by the Secretary of State as bathing waters in England and to omit two surface waters no longer identified by the Secretary of State as bathing waters in England. The names of 20 English bathing waters already listed in Part 1 of Schedule 2 are also amended.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or business sector is foreseen.
