The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 198 of the Localism Act 2011[^f00001] (“the 2011 Act”) as modified by article 4 of, and the Schedule to, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (Functions and Amendment) Order 2017[^f00002] (“the 2017 Order”), having been notified of the designation of a Corporation for an area, and of the name to be given to the Corporation for the area, by the Mayor under section 197(6)(b) and (c) of the 2011 Act as modified by article 4 of, and the Schedule to, the 2017 Order.

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Stockport Town Centre West Mayoral Development Corporation (Establishment) Order 2019 and comes into force on 2nd September 2019.

There is established a Corporation for the Mayoral development area named the “Stockport Town Centre West Mayoral Development Corporation”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order establishes a Corporation in relation to an area in the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, designated as a Mayoral development area. The area is shown bounded externally by the inside edge of the black line on the map.

The power to designate and establish the corporation is set out in section 198 of the Localism Act 2011, as modified by Article 4 of, and the Schedule to, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (Functions and Amendment) Order 2017 (S.I. 2017/612).

The Corporation for the area is to be called the Stockport Town Centre West Mayoral Development Corporation (article 3).

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been prepared as the instrument will have no impact on the costs of business and the voluntary sector.
