The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Commencement No. 20) Order 2019

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 182(4) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009[^f00001].

This Order may be cited as the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Commencement No. 20) Order 2019.
Commencement of section 18 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009

Section 18 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009[^f00002] (notification by medical practitioner to senior coroner) comes into force on the day after the date on which this Order is made.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into force section 18 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (c. 25).
Section 18 confers a power on the Lord Chancellor to make regulations requiring a registered medical practitioner, in prescribed cases or circumstances, to notify a senior coroner of a death of which the practitioner is aware.
