The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 150(3) of the Welfare Reform Act 2012[^f00001]:

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (Commencement No. 33) Order 2019.

Appointed day

2

The appointed day for the coming into force of section 36 of, and Schedule 6 to, the Welfare Reform Act 2012 in so far as they are not already in force, is the day after this Order is made.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force, on the day after it is made, the remaining regulation-making powers in Schedule 6 to the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (c. 5). The Schedule enables the Secretary of State to make provision by regulations for the purpose of, or in connection with, replacing existing benefits (see section 33 of that Act, which specifies the “existing benefits” that are to be replaced) with universal credit.
