The Secretary of State has been designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the 1972 Act in relation to the environment[^f00003], and the Welsh Ministers have been designated for those purposes in relation to the prevention and remedy of environmental damage[^f00004].

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Invasive Alien Species (Enforcement and Permitting) (Amendment) Order 2019, and comes into force on 30th September 2019.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends the Invasive Alien Species (Enforcement and Permitting) Order 2019 (S.I. 2019/527) to change the date on which that Order comes into force, from 1st October 2019 to 1st December 2019. It also makes a consequential amendment to article 43 of the Order (review: England), to change the date by which the first report under that article needs to be made, from 1st October 2024 to 1st December 2024.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.

The Welsh Ministers’ Code of Practice on the carrying out of Regulatory Impact Assessments was considered in relation to this Order. As a result, it was not considered necessary to carry out a regulatory impact assessment as to the likely costs and benefits of complying with this Order.
