The Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records and Registration) (Guernsey) (Amendment) Regulations 2019

Coming into force: 1st October 2019

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 113A(1)(b), 113B(1)(b), and 125 of the Police Act 1997[^f00001] as extended to Guernsey by the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) (Guernsey) Order 2009[^f00002].

Citation, commencement and extent

• (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records and Registration) (Guernsey) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into force on 1st October 2019.

• (2) These Regulations extend to Guernsey.

Amendments to the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records and Registration) (Guernsey) Regulations 2009

• (1) The Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records and Registration) (Guernsey) Regulations 2009[^f00003] are amended as follows.

• (2) In regulation 4 (fees for criminal record certificates and enhanced criminal record certificates)—

• (a) in paragraph (a), for “£26” substitute “£23”;

• (b) in paragraph (b), for “£44” substitute “£40”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the prescribed fees in the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records and Registration) (Guernsey) Regulations 2009 (S.I. 2009/3297). The fees for criminal records certificates (also known as standard certificates) are reduced from £26 to £23, and the fees for enhanced criminal records certificates are reduced from £44 to £40. This will mirror the fee reductions applied to applications for certificates in England and Wales.

The amended fees apply to applications for criminal records certificates and enhanced criminal records certificates in Guernsey.
