The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 34(1) of the Tenant Fees Act 2019[^f00001].

Citation

These Regulations may be cited as the Tenant Fees Act 2019 (Commencement No. 1) Regulations 2019.

Provision coming into force on 14th February 2019

Section 22 of the Tenant Fees Act 2019 (client money protection schemes: approval and designation) comes into force on 14th February 2019.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations commence section 22 of the Tenant Fees Act 2019 (c.4) (“the Act”). This section of the Act relates to approval and designation of client money protection schemes. Specifically, this section amends the Client Money Protection Schemes for Property Agents (Approval and Designation of Schemes) Regulations 2018 (S.I. 2018/571) which set out the rules for approving client money protection schemes.
