EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8(1) and 8C(1) of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16).
Regulation 2 amends the Timber and Timber Products and FLEGT (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 for the purposes of implementing the Northern Ireland Protocol (that is, the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland in the EU withdrawal agreement), accounting for amendments to retained direct EU legislation that have been adopted at the EU level after those Regulations were made and correcting a minor error at regulation 6(5)(a).
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, public or voluntary sector is foreseen.
