The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2020

In accordance with section 45R of that Act the Secretary of State is of the opinion that, by reason of urgency, it is necessary to make this instrument without a draft having been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament.

Citation and commencement

• (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2020.

• (2) The Regulations come into force on 25th July 2020.

Amendment of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2020.

• (1) The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2020[^f00002] are amended as follows.

• (2) In regulation 1(5), in the definition of “childcare”, omit the words from “and “early years childcare”” to the end of the definition.

• (3) In regulation 4—

• (a) in paragraph (2)—

• (i) in sub-paragraph (b), omit the words from “indoor fitness studios” to “other”;

• (ii) omit sub-paragraph (c);

• (b) omit paragraph (3).

• (4) In regulation 5(6)(b), for “Smoke-Free” substitute “Smoke-free”.

• (5) In regulation 6(12)(d)(iii), for “Safeguarding of Vulnerable Groups” substitute “Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups”.

• (6) In regulation 9(1)(a), at the end, insert “and”.

• (7) In Schedule 2, omit paragraphs 12, 14 and 15.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2020 (S.I. 2020/684) to permit the following to open: indoor swimming pools, including indoor facilities at water parks, indoor fitness and dance studios and indoor gyms and sports courts and facilities. They also correct some minor errors.

No impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations.
