This Order is made in compliance with the provisions of Parts I and III of Schedule 1 of that Act.

This Order may be cited as the A5 and B4579 Trunk Roads (Mile End Roundabout Upgrade (Oswestry)) (Detrunking) Order 2021 and shall come into force on 4th November 2021.

In this Order –

The lengths of road described in the Schedule to this order shall cease to be trunk roads and shall be classified as classified roads from the date on which National Highways notifies Shropshire Council that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.

THE SCHEDULE — LENGTHS OF TRUNK ROADS CEASING TO BE TRUNK ROADS

1.

A length of the B4579 from its junction with the Mile End Roundabout, given reference letter F on the plan, eastwards for a distance 234 metres, given the reference letter E on the plan; and

2.

A length of the A5 from its junction with the Mile End Roundabout, given reference letter I on the plan, northwards for a distance of 377 metres, given the reference letter J on the plan;

and shown by woven hatching on the plan.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Order removes the trunk road status from lengths of the A5 North and B4579 near Mile End Roundabout in the County of Shropshire and makes them classified roads. The transfer in classification and responsibility for the classified roads takes place on the date on which National Highways notifies Shropshire Council that the new trunk roads are open to traffic.
