The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 41(1) of the High Speed Rail (West Midlands – Crewe) Act 2021[^f00001]:
Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the High Speed Rail (West Midlands – Crewe) (Nomination) Regulations 2021 and come into force on 12th February 2021.
Appointment of nominated undertaker

High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd is the nominated undertaker for—
- (a) all purposes of the scheduled works; and
- (b) the purposes of any other provision of the High Speed Rail (West Midlands – Crewe) Act 2021 so far as connected with or in any way related to those works or otherwise for Phase 2a purposes.

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE
Regulation 2 of these Regulations appoints High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd as the nominated undertaker for all purposes of the scheduled works of the High Speed Rail (West Midlands – Crewe) Act 2021 and for any other purposes under that Act in so far as those purposes are connected to those works or otherwise for Phase 2a purposes.
