Coming into force: 1st August 2021

The Office for Students, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 42(1) and 44(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017[^f00001], makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Power to Award Degrees etc. (TEC Partnership) (Amendment) Order 2021 and shall come into force on 1st August 2021.

Variation of Power to Award Degrees etc. (TEC Partnership) Order 2020

(2) TEC Partnership shall be competent to grant foundation degree only awards of the kind mentioned in section 42(2)(a) and defined under section 42(3) of the said Act for a fixed term beginning on 1st August 2020 and expiring on 31st October 2024.

(3) TEC Partnership shall be competent to grant up to and including bachelor’s degree awards of the kind mentioned in section 42(2)(c) of the said Act for a fixed term beginning on 1st August 2021 and expiring on 31st October 2024.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order, made under sections 42(1) and 44(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, provides for a variation of the Power to Award Degrees etc. (TEC Partnership) Order 2020, so that TEC Partnership’s existing foundation Degree Awarding Powers authorisation remains valid until 31st October 2024. This Order also authorises TEC Partnership to grant awards up to and including bachelor’s degree awards for a fixed term expiring on 31st October 2024. This Order will come into force on 1st August 2021.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on businesses and civil society organisations. The instrument has no impact on the public sector.
