The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(3) of the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020[^f00001], makes the following Regulations.

Citation

These Regulations may be cited as the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2021.

Provisions coming into force on 14th June 2021

Sections 41 to 43 of the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020 come into force on 14th June 2021.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations bring into force on 14th June 2021 sections 41 to 43 of the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020 (c. 27) (“the Act”).

Sections 41 to 43 set out the information gathering and enforcement powers conferred on the CMA by the Act.

These are the second commencement regulations for the Act. Previous provisions were brought into force on IP completion day (31st December 2020 at 11.00 pm) by S.I. 2020/1621.
