In accordance with section 250(8) of that Act, in making this Order, the Secretary of State has had regard to the following purposes of the supervision of offenders while on licence under Chapter 6 Part 12 of that Act— the protection of the public, the prevention of re-offending, and securing the successful re-integration of the prisoner into the community.

(h) tell the supervising officer if they use a name which is different to the name or names which appear on their licence; (i) tell the supervising officer if they change or add any contact details, including any phone number or email.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order makes amendments to the standard conditions as provided for in the Criminal Justice (Sentencing) (Licence Conditions) Order 2015 (“the 2015 Order”). The 2015 Order applies to determinate sentenced offenders who have been released from prison on licence. This Order adds two new standard conditions into article 3(2), requiring an offender to inform their supervising officer of any change of name or use of different names or pseudonyms, and to inform their supervising officer of any change of, or new, contact details.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sectors is foreseen.
