The National Health Service (Liabilities to Third Parties Scheme) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2023

Coming into force: 11th July 2023

In accordance with section 71(1) of that Act, these Regulations are made with the consent of the Treasury.

Citation, commencement and extent

These Regulations—

• (a) may be cited as the National Health Service (Liabilities to Third Parties Scheme) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2023;

• (b) come into force on 11th July 2023; and

• (c) extend to England and Wales.

Amendment of the National Health Service (Liabilities to Third Parties Scheme) (England) Regulations 2018

• (1) The National Health Service (Liabilities to Third Parties Scheme) (England) Regulations 2018[^f00002] are amended as follows.

• (2) In regulation 4, in paragraph (1)—

• (a) after sub-paragraph (j) omit “and”;

• (b) at the end of sub-paragraph (k) insert—

, and (l) the Commissioner for Patient Safety

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the National Health Service (Liabilities to Third Parties Scheme) (England) Regulations 2018 to add the Commissioner for Patient Safety as a body which is eligible to be a member of the NHS Liabilities to Third Parties Scheme.

A full impact statement has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary sector or community bodies is foreseen.
