In accordance with Article 38b(9) of that Regulation, the Secretary of State has consulted such bodies or persons as appear to the Secretary of State to be representative of the interests likely to be substantially affected by these Regulations and such other bodies or persons as the Secretary of State considers appropriate.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

Explanatory Note

These Regulations amend Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 laying down detailed rules for implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 as regards the arrangements for imports of organic products from third countries (EUR 2008/1235).

Regulation 2(2) omits from Article 13 of that Regulation transitional provisions concerning certificates of inspection which expired on 31st December 2022.

Regulation 2(3) and (4) make consequential amendments to Annexes 5 and 6 of that Regulation arising from the expiry of the transitional provisions.

A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private or voluntary sector is foreseen.
