The Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) (Amendment) Regulations 2024
Made: 18th December 2024
Coming into force: 9th January 2025
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by article 97(1) of the Air Navigation Order 2016[^f00001], makes the following Regulations.
Citation, commencement and extent

- (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 9th January 2025.
- (2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Amendment of the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002

The Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002[^f00002] are amended by substituting for the definition of “Technical Instructions” in regulation 3(1)—
- “Technical Instructions” means the 2025-2026 English language edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air[^f00003], approved and published by decision of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation;

EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations further amend the Air Navigation (Dangerous Goods) Regulations 2002 (S.I. 2002/2786).
The definition of “Technical Instructions” is replaced by a definition referring to the 2025-2026 English language edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air, approved and published by decision of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (“ICAO”).
An Impact Assessment has not been produced for this instrument as there is no material effect on business, charities or the voluntary sector. A copy of these Regulations is available at www.legislation.gov.uk.
