EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations are made in exercise of powers conferred by Article 126 of Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council on official controls and other official activities performed to ensure the application of food and feed law, rules on animal health and welfare, plant health and plant protection products.

Regulation 2 revokes Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/700 amending the lists of third country establishments from which imports of specified products of animal origin are permitted, regarding certain establishments from Brazil (“the 2018 Regulation”). The 2018 Regulation restricts exports from Brazil to Great Britain by placing limitations in respect of exports from certain establishments.
